About Sara James Alexander Technique Teacher

Hey There, thanks for checking out my blog, for the time being until I can get my official website together this will be the place where I’ll be sending people for more information about who I am and what I am doing.  I’ve always been interested in how people can take better care of themselves and how our choices can impact the lives we live. I like teaching the Alexander Technique because it’s a great way to help people realize that they have a choice in how they take care of themselves. Or at least it has for me.  Before I studied I had terrible posture and couldn’t run without spraining something, so I stayed still a lot.  The Alexander opened a whole world of freedom of movement for me, I know how to move with much more ease and my body feels so much better than it would if I had never found it.  I was also a singer and and actress and it helps in many many ways in that area. Recently I was hurt and helped with the healing process and in helping me to realize that I have been suffering from a repetitive strain injury. I can tell you all the ways that it has helped me, but I’d love to have a chance to teach it to you so that you can benefit from it as well.

I have completed a 1600 hour training program from the Pacific Institute for the Alexander Technique, and am accredited by Amstat the national organization for Alexander Teachers.  I also have a Bachelors degree from the university of Iowa and have studied Holistic Health at JFK university and can facilitate Voice Dialogue. I’m currently a student and The Pathways Institute mystery school, I consider myself a life long learner.

I’d love to talk to you about lessons.  A lesson consists of verbal instruction, evaluation of how you are using your body and the ways that you can improve how you are using your body by using gentle hands to to teach directions that lead to more freedom and ease in sitting, standing, walking, using a computer, playing sport, singing, dancing, running and  pretty much anything you use your body for.  You may even find you can do some things you never thought you would ever do again.

I charge $80.00 got for private lessons, if you want to come with a friend it’s $45.00 a piece, and if you have a group of friends who want to get together and have a group lesson we can work something out.
